As always, our office will put our patients’ well being at the forefront of our concerns.  The following are some examples of the safety measures we have implemented:

 

  • CDC, CDPH, FDA recommended/approved personal protective equipment for all dental appointments including N95 mask, double layered with surgical mask, loupes/eye protection wear, face shield, isolation gown, bouffant cap, and (of course) gloves. 
  • Medical grade air purifiers with UV-C light sanitization
  • New HVAC system installed with REME HALO® in-duct air purifier that utilizes RGF’s proprietary Reflective Electro Magnetic Energy technology. Click here for more information on REME HALO® 
  • Isolite system and HVC suction to reduce aerosol during treatment. Click here for more information on Isolite system
  • Staggered appointment time to minimize traffic in the office and to allow social distancing between patients
  • Each individual treatment rooms are fully isolated with doors closed
  • Morning appointments are offered medically vulnerable patients
  • Allowing more time in between patients to thoroughly disinfect operatories with EPA registered disinfectants effective against COVID-19. 
  • Online forms to minimize interpersonal contact
  • Peroxyl mouth rinses. 1.5% hydrogen peroxide, the main ingredient in this mouth rinse, is one of, if not the most, effective virucidal agents available in a mouth rinse
  • Temperature screenings prior to all dental appointments
  • Employees screened daily for Covid-related symptoms

 

Our office closely follows the ever evolving protocols advised by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  

We understand that these extra steps may be tedious to some of you, but please know that this is all in an effort to keep our community safe by helping curb the spread of this virus.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and we look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

Please review our new office protocols prior to your visit


  • Upon your arrival to your scheduled appointment, call our office at 650-368-5551 from your car to let us know you are here.  Please wait inside your car until we notify you that we are ready.  Any copays will be handled over the phone at this time, in an effort to limit unnecessary interaction in the reception area.
  • COVID-19 Questionnaire forms needs to be completed before each appointment. 
  • Personal masks are REQUIRED prior to entry.  Please keep them on and only take off during actual treatment.  We will provide one if needed.
  • Upon entering the practice, we will be taking temperature readings using a “no-touch” thermometer.  Hand sanitizer will also be provided.  We will be leading you straight to the operatory; there is no longer a functioning waiting room.
  • Only scheduled patients are permitted entry. Companions are asked to stay home or inside their car unless previously authorized. 
  • Please respect social distancing and handwashing guidelines. 
  • No outside food or beverages are allowed. Please limit bringing personal items.
  • Forgive our lack of small talk; the added PPE is burdensome and makes for a difficult breathing experience.  We will rely heavily on hand signals during treatment.
  • We are advised to limit certain procedures which are known to produce unnecessarily high amounts of aerosol and splatter. These include, but are not limited to, coronal polishing, use of ultrasonic equipment, and frequent use of the air/water syringe.  
  • Please utilize phone or email to contact our staff regarding any account related questions.  This goes for paperwork as well; any forms that you may need to fill out and submit, you will be able to do so via email.

For the protection of all our patients and dental team due the recent outbreak of coronavirus, we are requesting the following:

If you test positive for COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, we recommend you cancel and reschedule your dental appointment. Some illness and symptoms include:

• fever > 100.4 F
• shortness of breath or trouble breathing
• dry cough
• runny nose or recent loss/reduction in sense of taste or smell
• sore throat
• severe headaches or body aches
• active tuberculosis (TB)
• mumps, measles, chickenpox
• other contagious disease

Please notify our staff before your appointment if within 14 days, you or someone you are in close contact with have traveled to one of the areas with large outbreaks of COVID-19 or if you have been exposed to someone else who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or who was quarantined as a precaution.
